Job Title: Press Brake Operator

Location: Santa Ana, CA

Pay Rate: $25/hour

Hours: 5 AM to 1:30 PM

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Press Brake Operator to join our manufacturing team in Santa Ana, CA. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude and be responsible for accurately setting up and operating press brake machinery. This role involves troubleshooting, maintaining production quality, and ensuring all output meets specifications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate press brake machinery according to job specifications
  • Select, align, and secure dies in the machine using clamps, bolts, and setscrews
  • Adjust ram pressure and die clearance based on metal thickness
  • Verify workpiece dimensions using measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers
  • Interpret blueprints and layout marks for precise alignment
  • Troubleshoot equipment and production issues as they arise
  • Report defective materials or equipment malfunctions to supervisor
  • Update travelers and enter job-related data as required
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area and equipment

Physical Requirements:

  • Lift up to 25 lbs
  • Push up to 60 lbs when needed
  • Carry up to 20 lbs over short distances
  • Regular standing (up to 85%) and occasional walking (10%)
  • Bending, kneeling, or squatting (approx. 5%)
  • Load and unload materials as required

Skills & Abilities:

  • Proficient in blueprint reading
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measures)
  • Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide in various units)
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience operating machinery in a manufacturing setting
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks and ability to interpret technical drawings
  • Understanding of production processes and quality control standards
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends as needed
